Environmental Possibilites
Sound installation commissioned by the RSB (Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra) for their Mensch, Musik! Series at the Haus der Rundfunks.
This piece guides a listening experience by altering one sense (sight) and heightening some of the others (smell, hearing). Built with 16 monitors to facilitate the presented 2 sound worlds.
Cricket and waves is a calm environment made of commonly heard animal sounds, nature ambience, and music composed and processed through modular synth, amplified through 8 monitors and situated in the front cloak room of the hallway. The lighting design is dimmed and relaxing to facilitate the meditative atmosphere.
Feuer is a forest fire made of field recording, samples, as well as music composed and processed through modular synth, amplified through 8 monitors and situated in front of the back cloak room of the hallway.
